  • Can I Personalise My Awning?

    Yes. Every retractable or drop down fabric awning we supply and install is made to measure, and you can personalise the awning in many different ways

    • Operation – manual or electric with electric motor variations to suit any existing home automation systems or not.

  • Can my awning be used in the rain and snow?

      A retractable folding arm fabric awning is primarily a sun shading product. The fabric is water resistant and can be left out in light rain provided the awning is set at a sufficient pitch (ideally 14° or more) so water runs off rather than pooling. In heavy or wind driven rain, and in any frost or snow, the awning should be retracted to prevent water pooling, fabric stretching or potential wind damage. If the awning is retracted while wet, extend it again at the next opportunity to let it dry. Electric models can be fitted with wind and rain sensors to retract automatically, but these are an aid, not a substitute for due care.   • What wind speeds will an awning withstand?

    Generally a self supporting retractable awning wil stand up to wind speeds of around 20mph. Most higher specification awnings will have a tested and certified wind rating based on km/h or the Beaufort scale, but of course no one is ever really monitoring the wind speed in their back garden or patio to make a judgement on this… (more…)
