Good News on Pricing for 2014
It seems all the major manufacturers have held their prices for 2014
Markilux, Weinor, Gibus and other manufacturers have all produced their 2014 price lists and apart from some further adaptations on their most successful products prices seem to have remained pretty much the same with an uplift of about 1 or 2 % maximum!!
Markilux have been the biggest surprise for the last 2 years or so and as one of the worlds largest manufacturers of the highest quality retractable fabric awnings we have seen hardly any price increases, partly due to lower prices in aluminium but also because Markilux are one of the only awning manufacturers who produce their own cover fabrics in house, and on a large scale by any standards. Their market is worldwide so their factory is pretty much 365 days a year and is an example of the power of the economies of scale.
The retractable awning market in its traditional form is fairly static in reality but the huge increase in the demand and sales of large terrace cover systems has been incredible and we put it down to the simple fact that people are realising now that in the UK the trick is perhaps to cater for rainfall rather than hot sunshine with an ever increasing temperate climate but also warm days and evenings with potential drizzle ruining your outside party or barbeque. The range of adapted commercial products available now are superb, and also extremely stylish, providing nearly a complete all year round cover solution.
