Markilux 1600 Stretch | Electric Semi Cassette Awning
One of the most popular applications for a retractable awning in a narrow location, possibly between 2 returning walls, such as on small patios or balconies. These spaces often benefit from sun shading, and this is where the Markilux 1600 Stretch can provide a solution and create a perfect outdoor covered space. There are very few awning manufacturers who can provide a fully retractable, self supporting awning which can project further than its width, simply because of the complex mechanics involved to do this. The supporting arms for the fabric cover cross over each other when closed simply because of the physics behind such a product.
This electric operated awning, with a semi cassette design, is of the very highest quality with a robust and complex design of the arms and the torque bar supporting mechanism.
Maximum stability for the fabric cover and arms gives the best overall peace of mind when in use. This is a great awning for niche areas or when there are restrictions on the width which cannot be moved.

Markilux 1600 Stretch Details
The awning is operated by an internal tube motor drive and various controls are available including the ever increasing popular IO motor system enabling the integration of smart technology and control by your samrt phone and Ipad.
The full range of Markilux fabric colours are available to choose from as well as options on the cassette and framework colour finish.
The 1600 is a semi cassette awning by definition but behaves pretty much like a full cassette in enclosing the fabric from above and the front with the unique shape of the cassette. The fabric cover is only seen directly from underneath so is protected from the UK weather. The reason for most semi cassette awnings is to accommodate the awning arms which cannot be contained inside a cassette or cover and are fitted to a carrying bar underneath the fabric roller.

The Markilux 1600 ‘Stretch’ awning is semi-cassette awning with crossover support arms to provide a larger projection than the ordering width. Its award-winning design has a rounded profile, giving the awning the appearance of a full cassette awning, but full protection for the cover fabric when closed.

The projections available allow this awning to cover up to 28 square metres in total. The awning is available as a manual version but we recommend electric operation for the convenience, ease of use and also because you can add wind and motion safety sensors to protect the awning when unattended.
Sturdy round steel torque bar, 50mm diameter to prevent twist and deflection. The 85mm roller tube for the fabric also ensures the highest rigidity and the best possible cover winding characteristics even at the largest awning widths.
Coverboard with an integrated brush so that larger pieces of dirt and debris cannot be drawn into the awning and are neatly brushed of. when closing the awning.
