Awning Fixing Brackets

So often now we find ourselves using bespoke fixing brackets to simply enable a secure fixing to a building which might either be very old and fragile, or super modern, lightweight building blocks which have little strength for holding the weight of an awning in a specific fixing point.

The forces and weight of any awning often need to be spread down the supporting wall of a building using ‘spreader brackets’ and often when fixing points are few and far between we often use gutter or sign brackets to obtain the necessary fixing position elsewhere and then connect with the awning cassette.
Placing all the forces of a large awning onto smaller focussed fixing points does rely on some good brickwork or structural integrity..
In the very worst cases we find we cannot fix an awning to the building at all and a goal post framework is then used which is supported by ground fixing options.

Awning Control

Most retractable awnings are electrically operated because it makes perfect sense for such large mechanical items. It also means you can integrate a wind speed or motion sensor to ensure the awning cover is automatically retracted if the weather suddenly changes and your awning is extended. Simple, safe automatic closing all from a simple weather sensor and having an electric motor drive included.

Samson awnings use the Somfy electric motor drive and with this comes a whole range of remote handsets, wall switches, timers, light sensors, temperature sensors and so on.
