Bespoke Weinor Glass Garden Room in Northamptonshire

A glass garden room does not have to be large to make a real difference. At this Northamptonshire home, Samson Outdoor Living designed and installed a compact Weinor room that sits comfortably against the house, providing sheltered space without dominating the patio.

The installation combines a waterproof glass roof, sliding glass doors, integrated LED lighting and an electric retractable fabric roof blind. Together, they create a bright, adaptable place to sit and dine, with more protection from the ever changeable British weather.

German Quality, Made to Measure

German manufacture, high quality aluminium construction and a made to measure specification distinguish this Weinor installation from a standard patio enclosure.

The width, projection and roof configuration were specified around the property, creating useful covered space while keeping the structure in proportion with the house. On a compact installation, that balance matters: the room should complement the patio, not take it over.

Weinor offers around 200 frame colours, providing plenty of scope to coordinate the structure with existing windows, doors and exterior finishes. The dimensions, glazing, colour and accessories can all be considered as part of one design.

Shelter Without Losing the Garden

The glass roof keeps rain off while allowing daylight through, helping the room remain bright and preserving light to the adjoining house.

The sliding doors allow the homeowners to adjust the space as conditions change. Open, they let fresh air through and maintain a close connection with the garden. Closed, they provide greater shelter from wind and rain.

This is an outdoor glass room rather than a fully sealed, insulated extension. It retains the outlook and character of the patio, with the protection needed to enjoy it more often.

Shade When You Need It

The glass roof keeps the room bright, but shade matters too. The optional electric fabric roof blind allows the homeowners to adjust the sunlight without giving up the benefits of a glazed roof.

Retracted, it leaves clear views of the sky. Extended, it provides shade, reduces glare and helps manage strong sunshine. Used alongside ventilation through the sliding doors, it makes the space more comfortable in bright conditions.

The fabric also softens sound within the room and makes the glazed enclosure feel more intimate. Its value goes beyond sun protection: it changes the atmosphere of the space.

Enjoying the Room After Dark

Integrated LED lighting makes the room practical after sunset, whether for an evening meal or somewhere to sit afterwards.

With the blind extended and the lights on, the space takes on a different character from the open, light-filled room enjoyed during the day.

More Use From a Modest Patio

This project shows what a smaller glass room can achieve when the proportions and specification are right.

Rather than simply putting a roof over the patio, the design gives the homeowners choices: open air or greater shelter, sunshine or shade, daytime use or an evening outdoors. That flexibility is what makes the room useful beyond the best days of summer.
