Samson 5500 Retractable Awning – LED Lit Arms
We recently completed the installation of a Samson 5500 retractable awning for a residential customer in Bedfordshire, delivering a stylish and practical outdoor shading solution tailored to their space.
OUR SOLUTION
The Samson 5500 is one of the latest additions to our awning range, combining modern design with advanced functionality. This full cassette, folding arm awning was custom-made to suit the property’s exact requirements, measuring 3200mm in width with a 2000mm projection. Its sleek, curved front profile and slim cassette design perfectly complements the home’s exterior, while ensuring durability and protection when the awning is retracted.
Finished in a contemporary RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey framework, the awning blends seamlessly with the property’s aesthetic. When closed, all components are fully enclosed within the aluminium cassette, protecting the fabric and mechanism from the elements and maintaining a clean, streamlined appearance.
The awning is operated by a Somfy electric motor, positioned on the left hand side, and controlled via a convenient 5-channel remote. For enhanced usability and safety, a Vibrabox wind sensor has been installed to automatically retract the awning in high winds to prevent damage.
To elevate the outdoor living experience, integrated LED lighting has been built into the folding arms. These dimmable white LEDs, also controlled via the Somfy remote, allow the customer to create the perfect ambience for evening use.
The awning is finished with high-performance Dickson fabric, designed specifically for outdoor use. Combining durability with stylish design, it ensures excellent weather resistance while maintaining its visual appeal over time.
