What wind and snow rating does a retractable pergola have?
Retractable fabric canopy pergolas carry significantly higher wind ratings than a standard folding arm awning thanks to their fixed front support posts and aluminium framework, making them well suited to the UK climate and more exposed sites.
To be clear we refer here to an electric operated retractable system with high tension systems used for the fabric cover and enclosure on all sides
The fabric canopy is engaged in most models at either side using a ‘zip’ guide and then the front profile pulls the fabric out under tension too, providing a tight fabric cover when extended.
