How does the glass veranda drainage work?

Rainwater that lands on the glass roof runs downwards to integrated guttering built into the front support beam of the veranda, then runs down through the front support posts (which double as concealed downpipes) to discharge at the base. This keeps the structure clean looking with no visible external pipework. The rainwater can either discharge directly out of the posts at low level or often is directed into an existing drainage or soakaway system. Some people also collect the rainwater for their garden and plants. Keeping all the rainwater away from the covered space is essential to avoid excessive flooding in heavy rain where volumes might overwhelm. We’ll confirm where the water discharges to as part of the design and exactly how many downpipes are required based on the size of the glass veranda roof.
