Can I use a glass room all year round and how do I heat it?

Yes, an enclosed glass outdoor room is designed to extend your usable outdoor season well into the cooler months. Because it isn’t an insulated, sealed extension, it is best warmed with dedicated heat: infrared/radiant heaters, low wattage electric heaters or underfloor heating, combined with a little daily ventilation. A glass room using single glazed units all round will protect from wind and rain and with any sunlight at all will heat up very nicely to be on average around 10 degrees centigrade warmer than the outside air. When the glass outdoor room is in darkness in the coldest and dampest months of the year, usually December and January you will find it isn’t warm inside without some assistance. Gentle, consistent heating works better than short, intense bursts and also helps control condensation. We can build heating and lighting into the design if you really want to extend the maximum use out of the room A glass outdoor room is designed to maximise enjoyment of the outdoors, natural light and maximum visibility of your garden or patio surroundings. Arguably when it is cold and dark this isn’t naturally inviting anyway. A glass garden room usually provides 4 extra months to an average British year to be outside and very comfortable. The dark winter months probably won’t be inviting unless it is daytime and sunny.
