Gibus Med Room

Gibus Med Room Header
The Gibus Med Room is a highly weather resistant commercial application for large outdoor areas with a retractable fabric roof. The Med Room can be leaning and attached to a building or as a self-supported stand alone structure. Most commercial applications vary from house buildings and have very challenging variations in building shapes, fixing points and roof heights. It is rare to have a totally flat brick wall to insert onto with a commercial building which is why the Med Room is developed with self-supporting in mind. The aluminium framework support posts create the basis for the overall structure and the retractable fabric canopy is a tough, durable vinyl coated fabric that varies from a simple retractable cover where the rainwater will fall off the sides of a sloping cover, or, a fully enclosed fabric system where the rain water is channelled into a built in guttering system directing the water around the framework and down one or several of the supporting legs to drain out at low level.

There are 3 basic types of retractable fabric roof systems for the Gibus Med Room, the Fly, the Plana and the Maki. The differences in the fabric provide different levels of protection depending on their use. Sizes of course will also determine one against another as the strength of each fabric is different too. The fabrics are either retracted in the roof in a concertina or folding fashion, which again has two further options and each of the fabric roof systems when fully retracted and open will end up protected underneath an aluminium fixed section to protect from the elements.

The retractable cover is operated by an electric motor drive with a single phase tube motor neatly concealed. Various control methods can be specified depending on the application.

The lean to version is the perfect extension of your premises onto the outdoor area and particularly effective outside on terraces and patio areas where there is a large direct access from an adjacent room.

The Gibus Med Rooms systems are all made to order, and can cover the largest of open spaces, with coupled units to cover vast areas. All open sides of the Med Room can be fitted with various options for the enclosure. One of the most popular options is ‘crystal’ clear zipped vertical blinds that can be retracted in the good weather to allow clients to get a real al fresco feel. When the blinds are closed, the room is sealed and water tight, allowing outdoor dining to continue, regardless of the weather. Another option is sliding glass doors, which once again, allows you to keep customers dry, but can easily be opened when the weather is good. Every system is made to order to the millimetre and there are a large choice of fabric colours and frame colour options to compliment your premises.

Stay cool in the hottest sun, dry in the rain and with additional lighting or heating is is also a great place to relax under in the cooler evenings of the spring and autumn.
