Butterfly Awning, The Three Swans Hotel, Market Harborough.
The Three Swans Hotel is a local landmark hotel, pub and restaurant in Market Harborough, South Leicestershire.
It was recently bought by the Bulldog Hotels group who have been lavishing it with some much needed TLC after years of under-investment. (circa 2015)
Samson Awnings were asked to provide sun and light rain shelter in an outdoor courtyard area at The Three Swans Hotel which doubled as a public walkway for guests and customers.
To compliment the attractive and detailed block paving, the customer eventually chose a 10m long “Butterfly Awning” Markilux Syncra system with 3.5m projecting retractable canopies to each side covering a massive 70m² seating area in total.
We installed a coupled Markilux Syncra Fix framework system combined with two Markilux 5010 full cassette awnings and Hotspots (lighting and heating bars). The system covers over 50 square metres of space and is fully retractable when not in use. The addition of the Markilux Hotspots offer lighting and infra red halogen heating for the cooler evenings. The entire system is remote control operated.
The Syncra system is proving to be one of our most popular terrace cover products. It is attractive when closed and also when open with the pitch of the chosen awning fully adjustable according to the site conditions. A Syncra Fix denotes a framework that is permanent and bolted to concrete pads. The framework will support every single Markilux product from the retractable awnings through to the Pergola and Pavilion systems, offering very large coverings for large outdoor areas. For commercial use these systems are perfect as their wind rating is far higher than most umbrellas and other fabric shade solutions.
The Markilux 5010 awnings used are fully remote controlled and are extremely easy to operate and control.
Each side is independent so can be adjusted to suit the level of protection required and the infra red halogen heaters and lights are also easily controlled for the comfort of customers.
