This is a great example of the use of a large retractable pergola system to create a very usable outdoor space and also provide much needed shade for this South facing patio in the summer months.

The Markilux Pergola is one of our bestselling retractable fabric canopies which sits above the performance of a normal knuckle arm folding awning and is recommended wherever you might want some rainfall protection, or where the sizes get larger, especially on the projection.

The fabric in this Pergola system is pulled out under tension from the aluminium cassette at the rear and is also zipped into the side channels to provide tension from side to side. The fabric cover is more taught than a normal awning and will deal with rain and wind far better during the year. Control is via a handheld transmitter using either traditional radio signal communication or IO communication enabling the addition of ‘Smart’ technology and control via your mobile phones or tablet if required from anywhere.

This beautiful green fabric will block the harmful UV rays of the sun but let some light through creating a calming space underneath.
