NEW for Winter 2022 – The Samson 7000 Retractable Awning

A folding arm awning for commercial or domestic shading and weather protection. A versatile full cassette awning, which is made to measure as standard.

Full cassette design protects all the fabric and other moving parts from the elements when closed up.

The Samson 7000 is ideal for sizes up to 7000mm wide with a maximum projection of 3600mm. The awning can be adjusted from a flat, horizontal angle up to 45 degrees of angle when mounted on a vertical wall.

The 7000 is a fully cassetted folding arm awning with all the components neatly folded away when closed into an aluminium cassette housing with around 260mm depth, all depending on the angle the awning cover is set at when installed.

The awning cassette and knuckle jointed support arms are all manufactured in aluminum and factory finished in white (RAL9010) as standard at no extra charge.

AWNING FABRICS

The Samson 7000 uses the superb Dickson awning fabrics range, specifically designed for awnings and external use. Technically advanced and highly decorative the fabric collections are always in tune with the latest trends.

Dickson have been manufacturing high quality fabrics for many years and they have fabulous properties for external applications.

Various upgrades are available with Dickon fabrics depending on the intended use. These include the Self Cleaning fabric upgrade, Fire Resistant upgrade for commercial applications and the unique Jacguard fabric.

PRINTING

The Samson 7000 is a perfect awning for commercial applications, whether that be a shop, hotel, offices, pub, cafe, and so on.

A wide range of solid fabric colours exist and these are perfect for printing logos and lettering to advertise your business externally.

Possibly the best way to provide a large brand logo which is presented fully when the awning is extended.

LED LIGHTING

The 7000 can incorporate LED lighting into the supporting arms of the awning to provide a subtle but very effective lighting underneath the main canopy when extended. Perfect for using your awning into the evenings.

Controlled from the same handset as the awning, the lighting is in the form of a diffused LED line along the underside of the aluminium arms.

CONTROLS

A manual awning is simply wound in and out with a steel winding handle placed to one side of the awning cassette via an eyelet hanging out to connect to. This can be a little tedious once the awning gets to over around 4m wide and certainly at the larger projections.

Electric operation is pretty much the normal method of awning operation in the 21st century, especially as it gives the additional safety of a wind speed or vibration sensor to detect when the awning is exposed to higher and potentially damaging winds. When the wind speed gets too high or the main cover is rocking around too much the awning retracts itself automatically for safety.

The standard and most popular control for an electric awning is a hand held remote transmitter, with a very simple in, stop and out button arrangement. Many different transmitters are available in various shapes and sizes with single or multi use channels to control more than one awning or other products with electric drive.

The Samson 7000 awning uses the world renowned Somfy motor drive system, a leader in electric tube motor drives and also motor control systems. Perfectly matched with the size and projection of awning chosen these motors have a 5 year warranty as standard.

SMART HOME INTERGRATION

The Somfy Tahoma Switch Smart control integration offers a chance to enter the wonderful world of Smart Home controls.

The awning would be controlled by your smart phone or tablet with the options of many timers and ‘scenarios’ using other detection hardware, such as temperature or sunlight sensors. So, for example when the temperature in a room where the awning is outside for shading purposes gets too high, the awning would extend to help control the amount of sunlight and heat.

Smart control is definitely the future for so many different home appliances and you can further extend way beyond just the awning with electric or manual doors, blinds, cameras, lights and other products around the home, all controlled from one place.
