Do you supply traditional ‘victorian’ style verandas?

Yes we do, the definition of which varies slightly, but is usually a visual detail in the framework and supporting posts. We can offer ‘victorian’ style front support posts on our own range of glass veranda systems which are made to measure and available in almost any colour.
Samson supply for DIY installation or alternatively can supply and install for you a wide choice of glass roof verandas (or ‘verandahs’ taking the ‘h’ into the correct form of spelling). The differences are usually the availability in sizes and whether 8mm or 10/12mm glass is used on the roof itself and because glass is heavy the roof beams to support the different glass sections will vary in size and strength.
A traditional style veranda in most people minds will have decorative sections at the top of each support leg at the front and extra detail in the actual post itself as shown in the image below:

The detail of the actual roof supports can also be defined as ‘traditional’ and the Weinor Terrazza is a good example of this with detailed and quite tall roof bar supports (150mm) for the Terrazza L system which is capable of projections of up to 6 metres. All the glass verandas are made to order and can also be manufactured with an our of square shape for odd shaped and L shape areas on buildings.
Traditional finishes are also an expectation and again the Weinor Terrazza offers 57 standard colours of which some are a textured and metallic finish. A finish such a ‘Iron glimmer’ will really be very traditional in its appearance and blend in very well with older period style properties. All our glass veranda systems are manufactured from aluminium for the very best all round performance and longevity.

The traditional use of verandas in Australia, New Orleans and the Caribbean shows the use of a roof system designed way before air conditioning was available and also creating an area to shelter from frequent and heavy rain storms, especially in the summer months.
The raised area in front of a home in several places around the world is now a theme in the UK at the rear of a house. A place to sit, relax and certainly take refuge in the rain, especially the rain encountered in the warmer months of the year.

Samson Awnings offer traditional style verandas as well as a range of far more modern glass verandas. The theme and construction is all similar with a wall plate at the back, roof support bars and then a front support section, usually with rainwater guttering built in and finally front support posts to support the roof bars and also act as downpipes for the rainwater to go down.
We offer glass and polycarbonate systems with almost no restrictions on the widths capable but a 6 metre maximum projection.
