Markilux 5010 Full Cassette Retractable Awning, Stratford Upon Avon.

A lovely couple from Stratford upon Avon contacted us in late summer as they were interested in getting an awning to shade their patio area.

The customer wanted a fully cassetted awning with maximum coverage for an area 3500mm wide x 3000mm projection. For an awning of this size we would usually suggest the Markilux 990 but due to the limited brickwork at either end of the awning we thought the Markilux 5010 would be more suitable. as the brackets are inset and adjustable unlike the 990 which has fixed end fixture brackets. This gave the installation a lot more strength and took the strain off the brickwork.

The Markilux 5010 awning is both visually and technically sound and is in the upper levels of awning models for strength and stability. The front profile of this awning is built with both an integrated gutter system and hidden water drainage sprouts to evenly distribute water should it start raining making it perfect for those outdoor parties often spoilt by rain! When closed, the folding arms are protected from the elements by the cassette ensuring they are not overly exposed to moisture making sure moss and rust do not appear.

This awning is available in both electric or manual operation, this couple opted for the electric version complete with a handheld transmitter for simple, relaxed operation. They incorporated a Markilux Vibrabox wind sensor which retracts the awning if the wind becomes too strong.

The customers wanted the awning to blend in warm toned brickwork so they choose Anthracite Metallic 5204 framework and a beautiful Brick Red fabric with contrasting white, cream and grey stripes (Sunvas 31583)
