Conservatory Shading
Samson Awnings offer several solutions to controlling light and heat inside a conservatory. Units that attach to the outside or inside of the roof section can be combined with vertical operating units if required to completely enclose the conservatory. Curved tracking systems can also be installed on certain shaped conservatories to enable control with one unit.
The outside installed blinds are contained within a small, neat aluminium cassette and are extended and retracted along fixed tracks and a cable pulley system is used to keep the material taut. We offer several different specifications depending on the size and the shape of the conservatory roof. 2 or more units can also be combined to cover large areas and also offer more control over different areas if required.
Operation of the outside installed units would normally be by remote control for ease of use and of course could be combined with various external control accessories such as a sun or rain sensor to automatically extend or retract the blind according to the weather conditions.Manual operation is possible using a universal joint and winding handle.
When combined with a vertical cassette blind the sun can be completely blocked out when required.
The different materials offered for the blinds can offer anything from complete blackout to simply stopping the glare of the sun but hardly reducing the light in the room.

Another very effective solution to shading under the conservatory roof is the 'festoon blind' system from Markilux. The system is quite simple with a cable pulley system to track material along underneath the glazing of the roof. Manual or electric operation is offered and many different material colours to create a warm, inviting environment without the full glare of the sun.
