The drop down valance is an optional extra available on selected retractable awnings.
Markilux call theirs the ‘Shade Plus’ option and Weinor call theirs the ‘Valance Plus’. Both manufacturers offer an electric version on certain models only whilst all the models having this valance option use a manual mechanical operation as standard.
It offers excellent control of low sun and also prevents cool breezes that so often occur at the latter end of a day in our British summer. Privacy is also provided as the drop down valance can be extended up to 2100mm deep.
The drop can actually reach to floor level but can be open at any height in-between.

Can be manufactured in matching, complimenting or contrasting colours to the main awning with the option of fabrics allowing partial vision through to outside using fine perforations in the fabric whilst the fabric is specially treated to make the structure stronger.
Traditional fluted valance still visible when the drop down element is fully retracted.
