Great Notley Country Park

Fitted for Essex County Council at Great Notley Country Park, Braintree.

The Great Notley Country Park near Braintree covers some 100 acres of open space and is home to the Sky Ropes and Essex’s longest play trail.

After careful consideration we decided a Markilux Syncra 2 Flex was the best option for a frame, as it was self supporting and stable. Onto this frame was fixed two Markilux 1600 Stretch Awnings, which provide a total cover area of roughly 7m².

The base of this particular frame can be customised, as the blocks at the bottom are often turned into either flower beds or seating areas. This makes it particularly useful for something such as a children’s play park, where it can not only be used to brighten up an otherwise rather urbanized area, but can also be used to provide a rest area for the children and parents, away from the harm of the sun’s rays.

The awning system has now become a well utilised area, and a great addition to the playground area.

The total area of coverage is 7m x 7m.
